Preservation in Saint Joseph got started in the 1970s in the fight against Urban Renewal. Among the most bloody of the fights was the one to save Market Square, the historic commercial center of Saint Joseph. In the effort to save it from the wrecking ball preservation activists went to court, got it listed on the National Register, and worked to raise public awareness. Unfortunately they were not successful, and Market Square was lost.

As a part of that endeavor, these little stationary packets were created. They feature charming original art depicting Market Square. We have only a few of them, still in their original 1970s packaging! This is a chance to own a real piece of preservation history!
